5 Signs You Are a Total Star Wars Fan

Do you live for Star Wars? Is an entire room in your home dedicated to, what many consider, the best space fantasy movies that have ever been made? Just how much of a Star Wars fan are you? Sure, you have the posters, the action figures, the books, the movies and maybe, just maybe, a lightsaber. However, even all this memorabilia does not make you a ‘Total Star Wars Fan.’

If you can answer yes to at least three of the five questions listed below, you fully deserve the title of the ‘Total Star Wars Fan.’

If you answer these truthfully and it is determined you deserve this title, Yoda ensures that, ‘The Force Be with You it Will.’ Now, Let us begin!

  1. If you duel your friends, with your brilliantly colored lightsaber, you may be the ultimate fan.

Although lightsabers are weapons of science fiction, they have become extremely popular. Several manufacturers have blessed Star Wars fans by creating replicas for them to enjoy.

In fact, all over the internet are videos of Star Wars fans dueling. These duels have their own set of rules. If you know the rules of the lightsaber duel, you may be a ‘Total Star Wars Fan.’

  2. If you know what holiday May 4 is and celebrate it and know why ‘Geek Pride Day’ is on May 25, you could deserve this title.

May 4th is considered ‘Star Wars Day’ by fans. This day is dedicated to honoring the movies, while celebrating the Star Wars culture.

This day was chosen due to the iconic quote “May the Force Be with You,” fans commonly use the date as a metaphor stating, “May the Fourth Be with You.”

In 2005, a rather peculiar incident occurred, when George Lucas was doing an interview on the German news. The creator of Star Wars, upon request, spoke the renowned sentence “May the Force Be with You.” When he did, the German interpreter misinterpreted his sentence. It was interpreted to the German people as, “We shall be with you on May 4.”

The very first pre-organized Star Wars Day celebration was in 2011. Festivities at the celebration included costume contests with celebrity judges, an Original Trilogy Trivia Game Show, parodies, mash-ups remixes and more. The second celebration took place on May 4, 2012.

Geek Pride Day was declared on May 25, in recognition of the initial Star Wars movie release date of May 25, 1977. It also commemorates the ties to Discworld, as well as, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

  3. If you already themed/or want to theme your wedding after Star Wars. Having your wedding party come dressed as characters from the six movies is a definite sign that you are the ultimate fan of Star Wars.

In a galaxy far, far away, weddings are being planned around a Star Wars theme. In reality, these weddings happen in our galaxy. This is because the cultural phenomenon of Star Wars is all around us. When two diehard Star Wars fans are getting ready to unite in holy matrimony, they may want to mark their special day with an unforgettable theme.

At your reception, instead of a flower-filled arch, consider a row of storm troopers holding lightsabers for you and your special someone to walk underneath. This is, without a doubt, a grand entrance indeed.

  4. If you can name the six movies and distinguish, which trilogy each is from, this title could be yours!
  • A New Hope
  • Revenge of the Sith
  • Return of the Jedi
  • The Empire Strikes Back
  • Attack of the Clones
  • The Phantom Menace

 5. Last, but certainly not least, if you can name and describe, at least 25 of the prominent characters from the Star Wars franchise, there are more than 152, you are the 'Total Star Wars Fan!'

Yoda has declared, "The Force Be with You it Will!"
