US: The Man of Steel's 80th Anniversary Culminates With Big Screen Double Feature of 'The Death of Superman' and 'Reign of the Supermen' in Special Event This January

'The Death of Superman' / 'Reign of the Supermen' Double Feature

Superman's greatest adventure – his death and rebirth – will be unveiled in a special two-day exclusive theatrical event as Warner Bros. and DC join forces with Fathom Events for a double feature presentation of the previously released The Death of Superman and the first in-theater screening of the all-new Reign of the Supermen nationwide on January 13 and 14, 2019.

As the second half of the double feature, Reign of the Supermen will be seen nationally in theaters ahead of its Warner Bros. Home Entertainment release on Digital starting January 15, 2019, and on Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack and Blu-ray Combo Pack on January 29, 2019.

'The Death of Superman'

The Man of Steel meets his ultimate match when the monstrous, unstoppable creature Doomsday comes to Earth – hell bent on destroying everything and everyone in his path, including the Justice League – in the action-packed The Death of Superman. In the second half of this two-part landmark tale, Reign of the Supermen finds Earth's citizens – and the Man of Steel's heroic contemporaries – dealing with a world without Superman. 

But the aftermath of Superman's death, and the subsequent disappearance of his body, leads to a new mystery – is Superman still alive? 

The question is further complicated when four new super-powered individuals – Steel, Cyborg Superman, Superboy and the Eradicator – emerge to claim themselves as the ultimate hero. 

In the end, will any of them prove to be the real Man of Steel?

50 Years After Inventing the Zombie Apocalypse, George A. Romero's 'Night of the Living Dead' Returns to Movie Theaters Just Before Halloween

A half-century ago, the living dead had their night, but for decades the inexorable dread of George A. Romero's "Night of the Living Dead" has been seen only in murky, fuzzy versions.

On Wednesday, October 24, and Thursday, October 25, only, "Night of the Living Dead" returns to nearly 600 movie theatres nationwide in a newly restored and remastered version presented by Fathom Events, Image Ten Inc. and Living Dead Media, in association with Janus Films and the Criterion Collection. "Night of the Living Dead" will play at 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. (local time) both days, presented through Fathom's Digital Broadcast Network (DBN).

⏩ Commemorating its 50th anniversary, "Night of the Living Dead" will be accompanied by a new behind-the-scenes look at the making of this iconic film.

Prior to his death in 2017, Romero supervised the restoration of "Night of the Living Dead" in anticipation of the film's 50th anniversary. He worked with the film's sound engineer, Gary Streiner, to restore and remaster the movie in 4K Ultra HD from the original camera negative. 

The Museum of Modern Art, The Film Foundation, The George Lucas Family Foundation, and The Celeste Bartos Film Preservation Center supported the restoration project.

The film tells the deceptively simple story of a group of strangers trapped in a farmhouse and find themselves fending off a horde of recently dead flesh-eating ghouls. Romero's claustrophobic vision of a late-1960s America literally tearing itself apart rewrote the rules of the horror genre, combining gruesome gore with acute social commentary, while quietly breaking ground by casting an African-American actor (Duane Jones) in its leading role.

Named one of the 10 best horror films of all time by Rolling Stone, "Night of the Living Dead" continues to influence pop culture and remains loved by films and critics alike: The film holds a 97 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

This unforgettable experience will also treat fans to an introduction by director Catherine Hardwicke and an exclusive sneak peek of the brand-new special feature "Twilight Tour…10 Years Later," from the upcoming Twilight 4K Ultra HD home entertainment release, available October 23, 2018. 

Twilight is the first title of the "Fathom Spotlight" series. This lineup will showcase contemporary blockbusters, modern classics and fan-favorite films back on the big screen including newly enhanced digital versions.

US: Welcome Back to 'Jurassic Park': The Original Steven Spielberg Classic Returns to Movie Theaters Nationwide for Three Days Only

Celebrate the 25th anniversary as it roars back to cinemas this September!

Few films have excited a generation of moviegoers as much as Steven Spielberg's "Jurassic Park." In honor of its 25th anniversary, Fathom Events and Universal Pictures are bringing Spielberg's revolutionary 1993 action-adventure film back to movie theaters nationwide this September.
