5 Signs You Are a Total Star Wars Fan

by

Do you live for Star Wars? Is an entire room in your home dedicated to, what many consider, the best space fantasy movies that have ever been made? Just how much of a Star Wars fan are you? Sure, you have the posters, the action figures, the books, the movies and maybe, just maybe, a lightsaber. However, even all this memorabilia does not make you a ‘Total Star Wars Fan.’

If you can answer yes to at least three of the five questions listed below, you fully deserve the title of the ‘Total Star Wars Fan.’

If you answer these truthfully and it is determined you deserve this title, Yoda ensures that, ‘The Force Be with You it Will.’ Now, Let us begin!

Why Star Trek Villains Are Better Than Star Wars Villains

by

I feel the whole world needs to know why Star Trek is superior to Star Wars. One of the reasons that Star Trek is so much better is because of the villains. Here’s why:

Motivation
Villains on Star Trek are much better-developed than those on Star Wars. What exactly is the motivation of Emperor Palpatine? Why does he hate the Jedi? Why did Darth Maul become a Jedi-killer? Did his mother get hit by a drunk Jedi going over the speed limit in his speeder? Darth Vader obviously motivated by wanting the power to keep his wife alive, but his switch was laughably sudden. He went from being best buds with Obi-Wan Kenobi to being a Jedi-baby killer in less than five minutes of screen time. Talk about good character development!

If we take a look at villains in Star Trek, you’ll see a lot better motivation. Kahn was motivated by revenge by the death of his wife. The whale probe wanted to figure out what went wrong with its humpback whale friends. The Borg were obsessive-compulsive freaks seeking perfection. The Founders of the Dominion summed their motivation this way, “What you control can’t hurt you.

Harrison Ford Carved His Career Out of Wood

by
Money in the bank, weeks off to spend time idling around on boats moored at exotic locations and if that’s too much, then go back to work where assistants fawn all over you while catering to your each and every need. Now that’s the life of a star. Harrison Ford slogged like the other 99% of the planet’s inhabitants to make an income and then he became a star, quite by accident. His life turned into one where lifting a finger to do your own bidding is as uncommon as full-cream ice-cream shops on Rodeo Drive.

May 25th: It's Universal Day of The Jedi and My Grandchild's Birthday!

by

How more blessed could a Science Fiction fan feel when his own grandchild actually decides to be born on the Universal Day of The Jedi? Now, that has to be a sign...

As you've probably guessed, we are celebrating both my grandchild's first birthday and the Universal Day of the Jedi in today's post... That explains why, with some help from the FaceInHole.com site, we have now a picture of Riley (that's my grandchild's name, by the way) dressed as a jedi... He does look the part, doesn't he?

Mind you, it seems that Riley has already gone for the jedi look before as we can see from the following picture...

Riley, a jedi in the making?

All together now:

Happy First Birthday, Riley!

The Empire Strike Back - 30th birthday

This year, May is definitely the Star Wars fans month as not only we have the yearly Universal Day of The Jedi in it but it's also the Empire Strikes Back 30th birthday.

The Empire Strikes Back was (and is still) the mother of all movie sequels and I did my bit towards celebrating its birthday by submitting a few stories to Mixx.com and some of the related Mixx Community Groups. Here they are for your own perusal:

The above mentioned Community Groups are:

Feel free to have a look... There are loads of good stuff there.

The icing on the cake was when I actually submitted the Universal Day of The Jedi related Round Up podcast episode...

I definitely invite you to listen to it... If you don't, this Universal Day of The Jedi won't be the same.

Happy Universal Day of The Jedi, Everyone!

 Have fun...
