Setting Up Your Outdoor Man Cave

A man cave is a sanctuary that a man sets up so that he can do whatever his manly desires lead him to do, without offending or bothering the women in his life. Traditionally, man caves have been set up in basements, garages, and offices. These are indoor places, but the man cave can also be set up outside. For the man who loves the great outdoors, or just being outside instead of a stuffy confined space, he should set up an outdoor man cave. With enough time and effort, the outdoor man cave can become the DIY’s man dream location.

Outdoor Man Cave
An outdoor man cave at its greatest would include a bar and a grill, where a man can relax with his friends and BBQ at the same time. He can relax outside on a sunny day, enjoying a beverage while BBQ’ing for five of his closest friends. The term cave doesn't have to be taken literally.

This can be done outside, without bothering his wife relaxing inside. This means that both husband and wife win: the man enjoys hanging out with his friends in peace, and his wife doesn’t have to be annoyed by them. Plus cleaning up outdoors is often times much easier that indoors. You can't hose down the living room!

Electronics Are Needed
For the truly amazing man cave, HDTVS, video games, and even a fire-pit could be installed. This could lead to some magical nights around a bonfire playing video games or watching the latest big sports game. Obviously the elements can play a factor, so planning ahead for inclement weather is essential.

While setting up an outdoor man cave might take more work and imagination than one indoors, if a man lives in a location with idyllic surroundings, then the reward is worth the work. Parts of the United States that are warm year round are perfect for the outdoor man cave.

Games
If watching television isn’t your thing, then setting up a volleyball net, horse-shoes, or a football table are all options. You could also set up a poker table that could double as a dining table for the entire family. The kids could also enjoy the football, television, and the horse-shoes during non-man cave times. It can grow to become an outdoor family entertainment center.

Possibilities Are Endless
The possibilities are endless for an outdoor man cave for someone with imagination and motivation. In the end, the man cave is a place for a guy to lay back and forget about his worries for a while. In the same way a cave provides sanctuary for a bear, a man cave can provide a sanctuary for real men.

The idea of the man cave has always existed, from him having his study, to a husband having his favorite bar that he goes to with his friends to unwind. The man cave is a somewhat humorous, but modern reincarnation of the previous getaways, now more customized to each individual’s tastes and preferences.
