Safe Zone For Syrians, Now!

by

Dear friends,

The Syrian air force just dropped chlorine gas bombs on children. Their little bodies gasped for air on hospital stretchers as medics held back tears, and watched as they suffocated to death.

But today there is a chance to stop these barrel bomb murders with a targeted No Fly Zone.

The US, Turkey, UK, France and others are right now seriously considering a safe zone in Northern Syria. Advisers close to President Obama support it, but he is worried he won’t have public support.

That’s where we come in...

Ten Classic Superhero Vehicles [Infographic]

by

Yes, I know... It does look like our infographics section has been rather neglected during this last few months. But, fear not! We have quite a few superhero related infographics for you to enjoy coming this way pretty soon. Honest!

We're starting the ball rolling with a nifty one (created by the peeps at Cherished Number Plates) that takes a look at some of the less common classic superhero vehicles.

This infographic not only features The Punisher's Battle Van and The Flash's rather unusual Cosmic Treadmill, but also... wait for it... yep... Wonder Woman's Invisible Plane! (Well, kind of...)

Enjoy!

Bruce Lee - Enter The Dragon

Enter The Dragon

Bruce Lee Jun Fan Yuen Kam was born in the year of the dragon, 1940, and at the hour of the dragon, between 6 and 8 AM.

Little Known Fact

Bruce's ancestry was Chinese and German. His father was Chinese while his mother was of German-Chinese decent. Her mother was Chinese and her father was German.

Way Of The Intercepting Fist

Jeet Kune Do, also known as Way of the Intercepting Fist, was Bruce Lee's personal martial art style. He developed it with the idea of being more flexible and practical with martial arts techniques. In doing so, he was commonly considered the greatest martial artist of the 20th century.

A Warrior's Journey

His Jeet Kune Do instruction was a premium in the highest demand and commanded a staggering $275 an hour. His students consisted of some of Hollywood's most elite, including Kareem Abdul-Jabar, Steve McQueen, James Coburn, Joe Lewis and Chuck Norris.

Last Man Standing

In many ways his celebrity gave him a parallel to the characters he portrayed as he was constantly being challenged by movie extras and other men who could get near him seeking to gain fame by beating him in a fight.

Many tried, but he was never beaten.

Game Of Death

His last film was "Game of Death" and was his only film to be shot with sound. His earlier films were shot without sound and the voices were later dubbed in.

Nunchaku

Nunchaku were Bruce Lee's hand weapon of choice and when wielding a pair he was an undefeatable force. He developed his legendary routine under the instruction of karate master Hidehiko "Hidy" Ochiai. The two men first met at the Los Angeles YMCA in the mid-1960's.

Fists Of Fury

Bruce Lee's ultimate secret was his lightning quick speed. To demonstrate he developed a trick where he had a person hold a coin and close his hand around the coin, but before they could do so Bruce would quickly remove the coin and replace it with another most often without the participant even realizing what had happened. When they opened their hand, it would be the new coin.

The Curse

As most know, Bruce Lee's death was deemed to be extraordinarily bizarre. Motivating many to belove it was the work of "Oni", a Japanese term for demons or evil spirits.

This curse apparently carried on to his actor son, Brandon Lee.

Mission Impossible

During an interview, composer Lalo Schifrin revealed that Bruce often trained to the "Mission Impossible" TV Show soundtrack.

Silent But Deadly

Another claim to fame was Bruce mastered a technique called, "The One Inch Punch". With it he could deliver a devastating body punch just with his fist just a mere inch from his target.

Elvis And Bruce

Elvis Presley and Ed Parker had a pet project film they were constructing in 1973 and 1974, but then suddenly it was forgotten until 2003 when the footage resurfaced.

The film is basically groups of martial arts experts going at it. The cast reads like a 'who's who' of the martial arts world of the time and although he is not featured in the film, 20 minutes of never-before-seen footage of Bruce Lee was also discovered with this lost footage.

The Dragon

When he passed away on July 20, 1973 Bruce Lee was only 32 years old was 5'7" and weighed 128 pounds.

He might have been small in stature but was one of the all time greatest film stars and the most accomplished martial artist in modern history.

Banned Beer Labels and Santa's Butt

by
Santa's Butt - Banned Beer Label

Winter is an important time for micro- and craft-brewers. The colder months mean that the heavier beers sell better, and beer aficionados love their holiday-themed beverages. The heavy ales and porters — beers that warm the drinker — lead to sales spikes in the winter. For one of their special holiday beers, Ridgeway brewers had Gary Lippencourt paint them a Santa.

Huge Victory With Benetton!

by

The following is an email from Avaaz.org that we have recently received regarding one of their campaigns (the one about Benetton and Rana Plaza - for more info, click here...) and its splendid result.

There is still a little bit more work needed to make the campaign even more successful, but it's definitely a brilliant result already...

Stay safe!

Bad Fiction Writing: Three Things Readers Hate

by

For me, fiction writing is the easiest writing I have ever encountered than to write non-fiction contents. Know why? That’s because, in fiction writing, you are dealing with what you feel or with what your mind would suggest you to write. It is more on your imagination and your won point of views. Of course, you should also stick to the facts but then, fiction writing can be any type of writing such as stories or novels, essays, poem and other kinds of writings that are not factual.

That Night When Moronic Antisemite Joshua Bonehill Had A Public Meltdown On Twitter...

by
Perhaps, the pressure of leading his brand new, but already failing, movement (losing support from his fellow neo-nazis by the minute) was too much after all for the infamous fascist, antisemite, racist and convicted serial liar, Joshua Bonehill?
American White Supremacists Turn On Joshua Bonehill

Or, maybe, he had a Dickensian-like experience (being visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future making him realise how badly he f*cked his life up and that, because of his own misguided actions, he will be a loser for the rest of it...) that completely freaked the self-proclaimed Far Right "Leader" out?

Who knows...

What we do know, though, is that, on the night of the 23rd of February, some of his and one of his (alleged) alts' tweets suddenly became even more weird than usual and quickly developed into what could only be described as Twitter's own version of a Twilight Zone episode

How to Become a Popular Christian Author

by

The society today has been filled with various negative elements and energies. These negative things vary depending on their impact. War between countries, civil unrest, and weather calamities is just few of those that we can consider as high impacting while there are those that we can consider as medium or small scale like depression, and anything that will only affect one’s self or the immediate people that surrounds the person.

In line with all the negativities today, people tend to seek or read books that are written on a positive note which will eventually give them hope and brings back their faith on the good side.

As such Christian books very timely and popular. In fact there are lots of new authors in this area. However, not all of these books are popular, only and a very small portion of the Christian books are popular in the society.

Below are a few elements that one must consider on how to become a popular Christian Author.
